Mike made his way to Calgary in 1993 to start his creative career. After a decade of drawing, doodling and designing, he took a position at McCann Canada. By 2005 he'd risen to the role of VP, Executive Creative Director, and during his 13-years there led them to become Alberta’s most creatively-awarded advertising and design agency. Since 2016 he has run his own studio, specializing primarily in the area of brand identity.
He’s had his work recognized by Communication Arts 16 times, won nearly 100 Applied Arts Advertising & Design Awards, over 40 Graphis Awards — including a dozen Platinums, multiple Gold ADCC Awards, garnered in-book recognition numerous times from Clios, Cannes, Art Directors Club and London International Awards, and has won Pencils at both the One Show and D&AD Awards.
He’s been a judge for Communication Arts, Applied Arts, London International Awards, Canadian Marketing Awards and The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada and has had his work featured in Print, How, Luerzer’s Archive, Contagious, LogoLounge and Taschen’s Advertising Now coffee-table book.
In 2008, he was named one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40.
